چکیده
Phenylpropanoids are a large and important family of plant secondary metabolites. The biosynthetic pathway phenylpropanoids is induced in plants under environmental stresses to cope with these harmful conditions. In the present study, for first time, we identified characterized one reference gene (ACTIN) three key genes (4CL, C4H CVOMT) Iranian red green cultivars sweet basil. Also, expression patterns 4CL, CVOMT were determined time basil cold, drought, heat, light salt stresses. results showed that ACTIN, identical other terms all characteristics such as ORF length, protein sequence molecular weight, functional domains, lack signal peptide, subcellular localization site, structures. Our also revealed have different abiotic their cultivar dependent. findings this study can advance our knowledge biosynthesis These be used breeding programs stress tolerance plants.

The content of essential oil in ten sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) cultivars and its composition
The experiment was conducted in the Research Institute of Medicinal Plants in Poznań, Poland in 2005–2006 and concerned a collection of ten sweet basil cultivars such as: ‘Minette’, ‘Mittelgrossblättriges Grünes’, Piccolino’, ‘Rubin’, ‘Red Rubin’, ‘Genoveser’, ’Martina’ and two Polish cultivars: ‘wala’ and ‘Kasia’. Moreover, ‘Lemonette’ cultivar of Ocimum americanum L. was also included in the ...
متن کاملExpression of 4 Genes in Ocimum basilicum and their Relationship with Phenylpropanoids Content
Recent data showed that phenylpropanoid compound, methylchavicol is essential component of Iranian cultivars of basil. Studying their occurrence during development of plant may help to elucidate the role of phenylpropanoids in plant cell physiology. We followed the phenylpropanoids concentration and the expression of genes related to their biosynthesis during growth and development of two culti...
متن کاملVariation in the Essential Oils in Different Leaves of Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) at Day Time
Essential oil molecules released from fresh leaves of sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) were collected in Tenax traps and analysed using a TD-GC/MS. During daytime from 09.00 to 17.00, there were no differences in the content and composition of total essential oils, however the percentage of eugenol increased slightly. Significant differences were found in both the total content and composition...
متن کاملChicoric acid found in basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) leaves
This is the first report to identify the presence of chicoric acid (cichoric acid; also known as dicaffeoyltartaric acid, which is a caffeic acid derivatizedwith tartaric acid) in basil leaves. Rosmarinic acid, chicoric acid and caftaric acid (in the order of most abundant to least; all derivatives of caffeic acid) were identified in fresh basil leaves. Rosmarinic acid was themain phenolic comp...
